Starlight Quest is a compact branching story set over a frozen nebula. The last constellation is dimming. A wreck is broadcasting a distress beacon, and a comet-oracle waits on the far drift. Each scene offers two choices, and a single play takes only a handful of decisions. Those decisions pick one of five endings, and they also decide your score.

Key takeaways
  • Every choice you make raises a story flag worth 150 points.
  • Each of the five endings adds its own bonus, from 180 to 420 points.
  • Routes are three to five choices long, so longer routes collect more flags.
  • There is no wrong ending for finishing the story; replaying is how you see the others.

How to play

Read the scene, then choose one of the two buttons. With a keyboard, press Tab to move between choices and Enter to pick one. There are no timers and no reflex tests. When you reach an ending, the game shows its title and a short epilogue, and the run is submitted. Press Play again to start over and try a different path.

How scoring works

Starlight Quest scorescore = storyFlags × 150 + endingBonus
Each choice made
One story flag, 150 points
A New Dawn
+420
A Light Shared
+380
The Wandering Sun
+300
The Lantern Keeper
+260
The Last Exile
+180

Because every choice raises a flag, the length of your route matters as much as the ending. A short route with the best ending can score less than a long route with a good one.

Every route, scored

The highest-scoring path is the longest one: visit the oracle first, refuse its offer, go to the wreck, take the shard, return it to the comet and gift the light. Five flags plus the A Light Shared bonus make 1,130. The best ending bonus, A New Dawn, tops out at 1,020 because its route is one choice shorter.

In Starlight Quest the long way around is the richest one: every detour is another flag.

Reading the story for yourself

  1. Play once without a plan and enjoy the ending you reach.
  2. Replay and take the other opening choice to see how the story branches.
  3. Try the longest routes when you are ready to chase the leaderboard.

The two opening paths

Answering the beacon leads straight to the wreck. Visiting the oracle first gives you an extra decision: give up a memory, which jumps ahead to the heir scene, or refuse and travel on to the wreck anyway. Refusing is the detour that unlocks the longest routes.

The shard

At the wreck, towing the survivors leads to the lantern-station and its two endings. Taking the shard for yourself leads to a moment alone with it, where you can flee or return it to the comet, which brings you to the heir scene and its two endings.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming the ending with the biggest bonus is always the highest score.
  • Taking the first oracle offer, which skips the wreck and shortens the route.
  • Fleeing with the shard, which ends the story early with the smallest bonus.

Leaderboards and achievements

Starlight Quest's bronze achievement is earned simply by reaching any ending, which makes it one of the friendliest first unlocks on SpicaPlay. Silver and gold ask for the stronger routes. Your best score appears on the leaderboards. If you enjoy choices with consequences, Relic Path turns them into a resource puzzle, and Dungeon Whispers adds danger to exploration.

How long does a play take?

Three to five choices, usually just a few minutes of reading.

Is there a single correct ending?

No. Every ending completes the story, but they score differently.

What is the highest possible score?

1,130, from the five-choice route that ends with A Light Shared.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. Use Tab to move between choices and Enter to select.
